MeeGo 1.1 SDK Beta Release |
|
MeeGo 1.1 SDK beta has been released.
This release includes Qt Quick, the Javascript-inspired framework that enables rapid development of mobile applications. Although the heart of MeeGo SDK is Qt Creator, you can also use basic functionalities directly from the command line. MeeGo SDK is extensible and we are working on different plug-ins that introduce new tools and targets.
This release is labelled as 1.1 Beta. The final version will be aligned with the MeeGo Compliance specification (draft currently under review) and will include MS Windows support (still unstable). Feedback and contributions are welcome through the meego-sdk mailing list.
MeeGo 1.1 SDK release enables application developers to develop, install, and debug applications, as well as run applications on N900, Netbook, and Aava devices with MeeGo. For developers without reference hardware, QEMU provides an emulated environment for debugging and testing applications.
For all development work, it is recommended to use MeeGo API, which currently consists of Qt 4.7 and Qt Mobility 1.0. MeeGo API comes with a forward compatibility promise and will be extended in future releases.
