[Upd] Midnight Commander now fully optified
Midnight Commander (a clone of the famous Norton Commander) is an advanced file manager (as well as FTP client, file viewer and editor, and much more), still the most powerful of all file managers available for the N900. So far, its serious disadvantage was that it wasn't optified so those who weren't able to optify it themselves (by moving the folders and creating symbolic links instead) had to sacrifice almost 8 MB of rootfs. Not anymore. A fully optified version has recently been released and can be downloaded from the Extras-Devel repository.

It's raining Amiga emulators for the N900
We've waited long for any Amiga emulation on the N900 but it was worth it. We've got.... THREE emulators at once, and really good ones!

* UAE4All emulates the Amiga 500 (i.e. MC68000 and OCS chipset) only but it is the fastest of all, providing FULL Amiga 500 speed with sound!

* E-UAE and UAE are considerably slower, but they support full range of processors (from 68000 to 68060) and chipsets (OCS, ECS, AGA) so they also provide emulation of Amiga 600, 1200 and 4000 software.

So now we have a good choice: UAE4All for realtime speed and the remaining two for AGA/A1200 compatibility.

National tragedy in Poland
Several hours ago an airplane with nearly all the most important Polish authorities has crashed near Smolensk in Russia, and - according to the latest news - no one survived. Onboard there were the President of Poland with his wife, the most important army commanders, the highest representatives of the Polish Church, important members of Polish Parliament and Senate, national bank, and major institutions. Different sources mention 87 to 89 victims.

It's the more tragic that they were going there to participate in celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the tragic mass manslaughter of tens of thousands of Polish army officers, intellectuals, public servants etc. murdered by Soviets 70 years ago in that very place, Katyn near Smolensk.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katyn

Today, in the very same place, Poland lost its most noble citizens once again.

No matter what nationality or religion you are, please sacrifice a short moment for a prayer for the souls of the victims...
