Downloaded, installed, and run - does all one might ask for in a free, 'simple' prog - a pretty display, choice of signal source and log or linear indication. Also, a peak detector - appreciated. Of course the calibration and its stability will be uncertain, influenced mostly by the microphone, I suspect, so do your own calibration if you need it. [Rate: 8/10] |

Why does the needle oscilates round value 20 dB all the time? Its never lower no matter the real sound volume...

@Dennis: how to install software is described in detail in the USER MANUAL of the Nokia N900, so it really doesn't take further guidance, and the only information one really needs is WHICH REPOSITORY the software is contained in. And that's what we do. Besides, the Extras-Devel repository isn't meant to be used by everyone as it contains a work-in-progress (i.e. not production-quality) software, and that's why we don't want to link to it DIRECTLY, as it should be everyone's CONSCIOUS decision whether to install software from it or not and accept possible risks resulting from using unfinished stuff. And that's precisely what is written on the page we link to next to the "Download" label. [No rate] |

@Dennis Drew: you do NOT download from this site. On the Maemo platform software is distributed through repositories and downloaded using the Application Manager ON THE DEVICE, which is described in detail on page available via the link next to the large orange "Download" text above, which you apparently didn't bother to even check. I also think that giving THIS PROGRAM such a bad rating only because you didn't care to read where to download it from is really unfair. [No rate] |
